YES! I have two wonderful tools I use for initial research with a client… One is a lengthy “Client Questionnaire” that digs deep into their marketing, copy needs, business goals, and personality of the owners/managers. The other is a simple “Creative Brief” that gets specifics about products, services, and the specific project. Questions like, “What is the main purpose of your blog?” “How do you move people from being a blog reader to a customer? What’s your sales funnel?” “What is a perfect outcome for this blog post/project?” “Whose voice is this message in?” And other stuff like that. But, the key point here is ask lots of questions. Go back to being a super curious 5 year old… “Why? Why? Why?????”
