“I haven’t even finished the AWAI Accelerated Program for Six-Figure Copywriting course? Is it too early to begin thinking about marketing myself as a writer? Do I need to finish the course first?”

Jan 13, 2016 | Q&A

NO, NO, NO!!! The reality is that if you want to be really successful as a writer, you should learn marketing first. Think about it… there are unlimited clients out there. If you land a project, don’t you think you’ll be motivated to learn writing? LOL… you bet! Nothing inspires learning like a $2000 check with another $2000 coming if you get the job done. Learn marketing first and polish up your writing as you go. Or you can spend years polishing up your writing, spend a lot of money, and be worse off than you are today. Seen it happen lots. Learn marketing first… that’s the sure path to the writer’s life. And one other thing… if the first few clients don’t like your stuff, you gained experience and got on the job training… Just keep moving forward and you’ll get better.
